Over 100,000 cases of food poisoning were reported in the UK last year, with over 400 people dying.  The estimated cost to the economy is over £1.5 Billion.

A recent survey carried out by the Food Standards agency found that 89% of the population in the South East didn't know how to store meat properly, and nearly two thirds didn't wash their hands after handling meat or fish.
